Useful Info
Living as a student
Life as a student at university or college will be completely unlike anything else you have done before. You will meet people from all kinds of backgrounds, take up new hobbies & interests, make new friends & (most importantly) educate yourself too!
At university the choice of subjects is enormous, from Artificial Intelligence (robots & stuff) to Art, from Music Technology to the History of Football, from Leisure Management to Lion-Taming (okay, I'll check on the last one, but you get the idea). Basically, if you have an interest in something, the chances are there will be a course on it at University.

As well as opportunities to study, there are loads of other distractions to amuse & entertain you. If you were ever curious about scuba-diving or snow-boarding, kung-fu or kayaking, then University is the place to be.
Halls of Residence
University accommodation needs to be a place where you can feel secure, can study without undue disturbance, make friends and enjoy the student experience.
They are a great way of breaking the ice and getting to know people like you.
The Student Union
Students Unions are popular venues for students to get together on a regular basis and are normally the hub of campus life.
Unions normally comprise of bars, nightclubs even music venues and are a great place for many of the student clubs and societies to meet up – or alternatively, you could just hang out there!
Much more useful information about student life will be provided on the Top-Up Programme and in the S5-6 LINK Workshop.
